FAQs About Our Duromar CrackFil

CrackFil can be applied to properly prepared concrete, metal, and similar solid substrates. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and abraded to ensure maximum adhesion. For best results, abrasive blasting or mechanical preparation is recommended before application to create a firm surface for the epoxy to bond effectively.

At 70°F, CrackFil becomes tack-free within 2 hours, functionally cured in 8 hours, and reaches full cure in 48 hours. When exposed to higher temperatures, curing can accelerate. For demanding conditions, a force-cure cycle can be used to strengthen the chemical and physical properties of the repair.
Yes. CrackFil is suitable for filling both fine hairline cracks and larger, deeper fractures. Its dense 100% solid epoxy formula allows for flexible use and excellent coverage, depending on the width and depth of each crack. One kit can theoretically fill up to 640 linear feet of ½” deep by ⅛” wide cracks.
CrackFil can be applied and cured at temperatures as low as 40°F, allowing year-round use. For optimal performance, the material should be stored and mixed around 70°F before application. It can withstand dry operating temperatures up to 250°F once fully cured.
No. CrackFil contains no toxic fumes or flammable materials. It is a 100% solids, solvent-free epoxy that can be safely applied in ventilated areas. Always wear protective gloves and eyewear during application and cleanup for safe handling.
Yes. CrackFil can be overcoated with DUROFLOR® linings or other compatible coatings once the surface is stable and not disturbed by the process. Because it cures rapidly, overcoating can typically begin almost immediately, allowing for efficient project turnaround and enhanced chemical resistance.
